The 2nd Annual Little Big Fishing Tournament Raised 162k

for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands

HYANNIS, MA, ISSUED July 5th, 2022…… On Thursday, June 23, 2022, The 2nd Annual Little Big Fishing Tournament raised over $162,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands partners with under-resourced families to provide their children with transformational, one-to-one professionally-supported relationships with caring adult mentors, so that their children will thrive. BBBS wants youth to achieve their full potential, which contributes to healthier families, better schools, brighter futures and stronger communities. Through innovative programs, BBBS ensures that children have more opportunities to be provided with a mentor.

The Little Big Fishing Tournament brought together 40 fishing boats, over 190 anglers, and many spectators. The day started off with perfect weather and ended with dinner provided by Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips, an award ceremony that included raffle prizes, and live auction, followed by awards and medals given to the adult and junior anglers who caught the heaviest striped bass and bluefish.

Due to the continued success of this tournament, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands will now be able to assist more at-risk youth in our community and can ensure that every child that needs support is able to receive it. The Jaxtimer family continues their commitment to making a difference in children’s lives here on Cape Cod and the Islands.

“Because of our dedicated team of employees, volunteers, captains, participants, donors, and sponsors, we were able to raise double what we raised last year. We are so very grateful for all of the support and generosity,” said E.J. Jaxtimer after finding out the final results of the tournament.

A special thank you to the Baxter family and Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips for sponsoring and hosting the tournament.
