1st Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament Raises More Than $50k For Local Charities.

HYANNIS, MA, ISSUED AUGUST 8, 2017…… The inaugural charity Charter Cup Fishing Tournament, presented by E.J. Jaxtimer of E.J. Jaxtimer Builder, Inc. and Sam Baxter of Baxter’s Boathouse and Fish & Chips, raised awareness and more than $50,000 for eight local non-profits on Cape Cod.

The invitation only, one-day event, which took place on Wednesday, July 19th from Baxter’s Fish and Chips in Hyannis, featured eight of the Cape’s finest boat crews competing to raise money for their selected charities, with the winning boat with the heaviest bluefish and striped bass received an additional $1000 for their charity.   It was all hands on deck for “local businesses giving back”!

“I am proud that businesses from our local community are coming together to introduce this new fishing tournament to raise funds for our local nonprofits,” says event co-organizer E.J. Jaxtimer.  “With my lifelong passion for fishing and philanthropy, I wanted to create a new, exclusive fishing tournament that will benefit nonprofits who are in need of funding on Cape Cod.”

The 100% of the proceeds raised from the first Charter Cup Fishing Tournament will directly benefit Cape Abilities, Cape Cod Child Development, Habitat for Humanity Cape Cod, Independence House, L.I.F.E., May Institute, Special Olympics Cape Cod & Islands, and WellStrong.
