Nonprofits depend on the generous donations and support from the community. The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected many nonprofits financially and face potential cutbacks or closures because of the lack of private donations and reductions in government grants. Due to the urgency to keep influential nonprofits operating and providing services to those less fortunate, the 4th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament will remain scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Baxter’s Fish ‘n’ Chips, Hyannis. This year’s charities include Cape Abilities, Chromosome 18, May Institute, WellStrong, Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod, Housing Assistance Corporation of Cape Cod, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands, Yarmouth Police Foundation, Joslin Diabetes Center, the Cape and Island Veterans Outreach Center and Angel Flight NE.
Businesses or private donors are encouraged to donate if they have the financial means to do so. Checks are payable to the nonprofit of choice (listed above). If you wish to donate to multiple nonprofits, checks need to be made out individually. Donations can be in the amount(s) of $1,000, $750, $500, $250, or $100 (but any donation amount is accepted.)
Mail check(s) and sponsor form(s) to: E.J. Jaxtimer Builder, Inc., 48 Rosary Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601. Donations can also be made by contacting the nonprofits directly.
The Charter Cup Fishing Tournament is an invitation only, one day event, made up of local businesses and charter fishing boats that have teamed up to raise funds for 11 local nonprofits with 100% of ALL funds going directly to the nonprofits involved. “We anticipate the tournament to operate with possible restrictions due to the COVID-19 situation, but we are fully committed to raising funds for all the charities involved. In the end, every little bit helps!” said E.J. Jaxtimer.
