THE LITTLE BIG FISHING TOURNAMENT RESULTS

The Little Big Fishing Tournament Raised 85k for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands

HYANNIS, MA, ISSUED July 23, 2021…… On Thursday, June 24, 2021, The Little Big Fishing Tournament raised nearly $85,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands partners with under-resourced families to provide their children with transformational, one-to-one professionally-supported relationships with caring adult mentors, so that their children will thrive. BBBS wants youth to achieve their full potential, which contributes to healthier families, better schools, brighter futures and stronger communities. Through innovative programs, BBBS ensures that children have more opportunities to be provided with a mentor.

The Little Big Fishing Tournament brought together 40 fishing boats and over 200 anglers. The day ended with dinner provided by Baxter’s Fish ‘N’ Chips, an award ceremony that included raffle prizes and giveaways, followed by awards and medals given to the adult and junior anglers who caught the heaviest striped bass and bluefish.

Due to the success of this tournament, BBBS will now be able to assist more at-risk youth on our community and can ensure that every child that needs support is able to receive it. The Jaxtimer family has seen firsthand the positive impact BBBS has had and they are committed to making a difference in children’s lives here on Cape Cod and the Islands.

This fundraiser would not have been possible without the generous donations from our friends and family, valued clients, local business partners who support our community.

A special thank you to Baxter’s Fish ‘N’ Chips for sponsoring and hosting the tournament.
