HYANNIS, MA, ISSUED July 16, 2024…… The 8th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament raised $563,000 for twenty non-profits.

It was a great day for fishing and fundraising with 25 boats and 125 anglers. The day ended at Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips, Hyannis, with an award ceremony and a live auction that raised $25,950 to benefit Cape Kids Meals, The Family Pantry of Cape Cod, Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center, Cape Wellness Collaborative, and the Epilepsy Foundation of New England. The heaviest bluefish award went to Joslin Diabetes Center and the heaviest striped bass award went to Special Olympics MA. In addition, the Battle of the Badges heaviest striped bass award went to Habitat for Humanity and the heaviest bluefish award went to Tommy’s Place. The sportsmanship award was given to Andy Little for volunteering his time as weighmaster and continued contributions to the Charter Cup Fishing Tournament and the Cape Cod community.
“We raised over half a million dollars for twenty charities! This totals an astounding 2.2 million dollars raised over the last eight years. I would like to thank all of the sponsors, donors, participants, and volunteers that made this fundraising event such a success. A special thank you goes to the Baxter Family and Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips for their unwavering generosity and dedication to supporting our cause,” said E.J. Jaxtimer.
