The 8th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament

Charter Cup Fishing Tournament
Raised $563k for Charity

The 8th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, raised over $563,000 for twenty charities. We are overjoyed to announce that this was the most successful tournament to date. Since its inception in 2017, the Charter Cup has raised over 2.2 million dollars.

The tournament raises funds for non-profit groups that provide much needed services including emergency flights for critically ill patients, physical/mental fitness for people in recovery, and programs for physically/mentally challenged adults. It also supports children fighting cancer, early childhood education, local law enforcement efforts, at-risk youth programs, affordable housing projects, quality programs designed to empower youth, and affordable healthcare for diabetics.

It was a great day for fishing and fundraising with 25 fishing boats and 125 anglers. The day ended at Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips, Hyannis, with an award ceremony and a live auction that raised $25,950 to benefit Cape Kids Meals, The Family Pantry of Cape Cod, Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center, Cape Wellness Collaborative, and the Epilepsy Foundation of New England. The heaviest bluefish award went to Joslin Diabetes Center and the heaviest striped bass award went to Special Olympics MA. In addition, the Battle of the Badges heaviest striped bass award went to Habitat for Humanity and the heaviest bluefish award went to Tommy’s Place. The sportsmanship award was given to Andy Little for volunteering his time as weighmaster and continued contributions to the Charter Cup Fishing Tournament and the Cape Cod community.

We'd like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of the sponsors, donors, participants, and volunteers that made this fundraising event such a success. A special thank you goes to the Baxter Family and Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips for their unwavering generosity and dedication to supporting our cause.

Thank you all for another successful event!
