E.J. Jaxtimer Builder, Inc. Announces 6th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament

HYANNIS, MA, ISSUED May 5, 2022…… The 6th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips.

Since its inception in 2017, the Charter Cup Fishing Tournament has raised over $708,000. The tournament gives 100% of the profits raised to nonprofits that provide much needed services, including: physical/mental fitness for people in recovery, programs for physically/mentally challenged adults, early childhood education, and equitable healthcare for the homeless. It also supports local law enforcement efforts, at-risk youth programs, funds affordable housing projects, affordable healthcare for diabetics, and emergency flights for critically ill patients.

During the last two years of unprecedented times due to COVID-19, nonprofits have dealt with constant uncertainty, the threat of not being able to provide services to those in most need, and even permanent shutdowns. As a group of local businesses and enthusiastic philanthropists, the tournament organizers continue to recognize the evolving situation the pandemic is having on the local nonprofit sector. As the need for assistance dramatically grows, the tournament and its participants are committed more than ever to lend a helping hand and see to it that the selected nonprofits get the funding they need to continue their missions.

This year, the 6th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament, to be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, will raise funds for Angel Flight, Barnstable Police K9 Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands, Cape Abilities, Duffy Health Center, First Responder ‘Supporting the Front Lines’ initiative via Bfree Wellness, Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod, Housing Assistance Corp (HAC), Joslin Diabetes Center, May Institute, WellStrong, the Yarmouth Police Foundation, and YMCA Cape Cod.

“Although the tournament was impacted by COVID-19 last year, as a group we were able to successfully raise over $304,000! We anticipate this year’s tournament may have some challenges, but we are fully committed to supporting our community and raising as much money as we can,” said E.J. Jaxtimer.

The tournament invites the community to support this memorable and one of a kind event if they have the financial means to do so. To make a donation, please make checks payable to the charity (listed above) of choice. If one wishes to donate to multiple charities, checks need to be made out individually. Donations can be in the amount(s) of $10,000, $5,000, $2,500, $1,000, $750, $500, or $250 (but any donation amount is accepted and greatly appreciated.)
