Charter Cup Fishing Tournament Raised 516k for Charity

 

HYANNIS, MA, ISSUED August 9, 2023…… The 7th Annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament raised $516,000 for twenty-two non-profits.

The weather conditions were perfect and it was a great day for fishing and fundraising. The day ended at Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips, Hyannis, with an award ceremony and a live auction that raised $29,750. Funds raised by the live auction will benefit Cape Kids Meals, Yarmouth Food Pantry, The Family Pantry of Cape Cod, A Baby Center, Sharing Kindness, Homeless Not Hopeless, Independence House, and Cape Cod Elder Services. The heaviest bluefish award went to Joslin Diabetes Center and the heaviest striped bass award went to the Yarmouth Police Foundation. In addition, the Battle of the Badges heaviest striped bass award went to the Yarmouth Police Foundation and the heaviest bluefish award went to Duffy Health Center. The sportsmanship award was given to Ken Whiting for his longtime support of the Charter Cup Fishing Tournament and the Cape Cod community throughout the years.

“In just seven years, we have raised over 1.5 million dollars for non-profits that help make our community healthier and stronger. This year, we added the Battle of the Badges to thank all the first responders who keep us safe and come to our aid every day. We are so, so very lucky!” E.J. said after thanking all sponsors, donors, participants, and volunteers that made this day possible.
